FiveM: getting started

Prereqs

  • A Cfx.re server license key from the official keymaster — never paste it in public Discord.
  • A pinned FXServer artifact build your host supports (avoid random “latest” zips from forums).
  • Clear hostname, project name, and tags in server.cfg.

server.cfg sanity

  • ensure order matters — frameworks before scripts that depend on them.
  • Set OneSync according to your slot count and framework docs; don't flip it mid-season without a wipe plan.
  • Use steam/Discord/identifier allowlists for staff early; open public only when bans/logging exist.
