Discord profile badges

A WebModTools field guide to Discord profile flair — what it means, whether you can still earn it, and which API flag bit powers it when one exists.

Independent WebModTools reference — not affiliated with Discord Inc., Mojang, Rockstar, or ZAP-Hosting beyond disclosed affiliate links. Facts change; verify on official docs when it matters.

Paste a user ID into User & Guild Lookup to see which of these show up live. Icons load from Discord's own CDN.

General / user badges

  • Discord Staff

    Invite / employee only

    flag 1 (1≪0)

Employees of Discord. Staff can hide the badge on their profile.

  • Partnered Server Owner

    Legacy / closed

    flag 2 (1≪1)

Awarded when you owned a server accepted into Discord's Partner Program. New partner applications are not open the way they used to be — treat this as legacy for most people.

  • HypeSquad Events

    Legacy / closed

    flag 4 (1≪2)

Represented Discord at events under the old HypeSquad Events program. Closed; not expected to return.

  • Bug Hunter (standard)

    Invite / employee only

    flag 8 (1≪3)

Reach the Bug Hunter tier in Discord's Testers program. Invitation-only for most people today.

  • HypeSquad Bravery

    Obtainable

    flag 64 (1≪6)

Complete the in-app HypeSquad house quiz and land on Bravery.

  • HypeSquad Brilliance

    Obtainable

    flag 128 (1≪7)

    Same quiz — Brilliance house.

  • HypeSquad Balance

    Obtainable

    flag 256 (1≪8)

    Same quiz — Balance house.

  • Early Supporter

    Legacy / closed

    flag 512 (1≪9)

Had a successful Nitro-related purchase before Discord's early-supporter cutoff (Oct 2018). Locked forever after that window.

  • Bug Hunter (gold)

    Invite / employee only

    flag 16384 (1≪14)

Higher Testers tier (“Bug Scholar” era naming). Still gated behind the Testers program.

  • Early Verified Bot Developer

    Legacy / closed

    flag 131072 (1≪17)

Owned a verified bot before Discord renamed the program (Aug 2020). New verified apps don't get this legacy flair.

  • Moderator Programs Alumni

    Legacy / closed

    flag 262144 (1≪18)

Came from Discord's certified / alumni moderator track. Not obtainable after late 2022 when that track wound down.

  • Active Developer

    Legacy / closed

    flag 4194304 (1≪22)

Was earned by running a global application command, then claiming the badge. Discord decommissioned the program and removed the badge from profiles (late 2025).

  • Nitro

    Obtainable

Active Discord Nitro subscription. Shown as Nitro flair on the profile rather than a classic public_flags bit in every client build.

  • Originally known as…

    Obtainable

Appears after migrating to Discord's new username system. Can be hidden in profile settings.

  • Completed a Quest

    Obtainable

Finish a Quest from Discord's gift / inventory quests UI when Quests are available in your region.

App / bot flair

  • Supports Commands

    Obtainable

    flag 8388608 (1≪23)

App uses application commands (slash / context menus). Discord surfaces this on the app's profile.

  • Uses AutoMod

    Obtainable

    flag 16777216 (1≪24)

Associated with servers / apps that hit Discord's AutoMod usage threshold (historically tied to many active rules). Exact threshold is Discord's call.

Notes

  • Nitro month badges and server-boost ladders are tracked separately — see Nitro & boosts.
  • Clan / guild-tag icons are server-owned cosmetics (dozens of owner-picked glyphs). They are not classic public_flags profile badges.
  • Discord renames and retires flair. If a row fights the client, trust the client.
