Discord Pro tips & FAQ
Quick Discord Pro basics. Expand a row — no wall of cards.
Enable Developer Mode
To copy User, Message, Channel, or Server IDs: Settings → Advanced → toggle Developer Mode ON. Usernames change; IDs are permanent — use IDs for bots, logs, and permission syncs (right-click → Copy ID).
Related tool →Search operators (mod evidence fast)
In Discord search: from:UserID (even if they left), has:link or has:embed, before:2024-01-01, in:#channel-name. Combine them — e.g. from:123456789 has:link in:#general.
Permissions “golden rule”
Priority (highest → lowest): Channel-specific overrides → Role permissions → @everyone. If someone can’t see a channel despite an Allow role, check Channel Settings → Permissions — a channel Deny (X) beats a server-wide Allow.
Related tool →AutoMod regex tips
Discord AutoMod supports regex. Exact words: \b(?:word1|word2)\b (won’t match “sword” when blocking “word”). Invite spam patterns are powerful but brittle — always test in a private channel first so you don’t nuke legitimate chat.
Related tool →Webhooks for clean announcements
Edit Channel → Integrations → Webhooks → copy the URL. Paste it into the Embed Builder to send colored embeds, fields, and thumbnails without coding a bot. The URL is used only to send — never stored on WebModTools.
Related tool →Useful mention / ID formats
Channels: <#ID> · Users: <@ID> · Roles: <@&ID> · Slash commands: </name:ID> · Specials: <id:guide>, <id:browse>, <id:customize>. Thread posts: optional Thread ID on the webhook (same channel as the webhook).
Related tool →Dynamic timestamps
Use <t:unix:format> so every member sees the event in their own timezone. Formats: t T d D f F R (relative). Build them with the Timestamp Generator.
Related tool →Role colors & accessibility
Pretty roles that look identical under colorblind simulation confuse half your mod team. Stress-test hex colors for protanopia / deuteranopia / tritanopia before you ship the palette.
