Captive portal hints
Hotels and coffee-shop Wi-Fi often block outside URLs until you sign in. We compare Google-style probes with our own ping endpoint.
OS-level captive portal detection uses native requests you cannot fully replicate in a web page. Cross-origin status codes may be hidden (no-cors). Timeouts are 5 seconds per probe. Treat this as a hint, not proof.
