WordPress basics
Most WP disasters are outdated plugins, shared admin passwords, or no tested backup.

Keep the surface small
- Update core, theme, and plugins on a schedule — staging first if the site earns money.
- Delete unused themes/plugins; deactivated is not the same as gone.
- One page builder + one SEO plugin is enough for most community sites.
- Limit admin accounts; use strong unique passwords + 2FA plugins where available.
Avada / heavy themes
Theme builders are fine — cache aggressively, avoid stacking three optimizers, and don't paste untrusted PHP snippets from random forums into theme options.
