Record and Share Screens with Your Own Cloudflare Setup

Free, open-source screen recording and sharing for Mac, hosted in your Cloudflare account

Paying for screen recording and sharing tools can be a hassle, especially when you only need them occasionally. One developer built their own solution, Shroom, to solve this problem.

Shroom is a free, open-source app for Mac that lets you record and share screens directly from your Cloudflare account. You can install it with a single command or use an AI agent to automate the process.

The setup is straightforward and takes about 10 minutes. You'll need to create a token and add a card to enable storage on Cloudflare. With Cloudflare's free tier, you can store up to 3 hours of recorded videos without incurring any costs.

Beyond that, storage costs are still relatively cheap. You can use the slider on the Shroom website to estimate your costs. Shroom also auto-deletes stale videos to keep your storage usage in check.

This DIY approach can be a game-changer for developers, moderators, and community managers who need to record and share screens frequently.
